The French call their mother maman, but here in America, Maman is also a French-inspired all-day cafe. With more than 30 locations, many in New York, Maman has made its way to West Palm Beach, opening in CityPlace.
Benjamin Sormonte and Elisa Marshall opened their first Maman in New York City’s Soho neighborhood in October 2014 and the concept quickly caught on.
“The area’s vibrant and diverse community, along with its picturesque setting, aligns seamlessly with Maman’s ethos,” says Marshall.
The CityPlace cafe boasts decor and imported French antique furniture, all of which draws inspiration from the provincial South of France, custom handmade hanging light fixtures made of concrete, seashells and natural materials and hand-stenciled floors and walls.
The menu features an assortment of pastry, a daily quiche and make-your-own omelets. Looking to conquer your sweet tooth? Try the Pain Au Chocolat Perdu or Charlotte’s Belgian Waffles.
The Crème Fraîche Pancakes contain a surprising but delicious combination of pecan-pretzel pie crumbles and basil coulis. Or try the Everything Croissant & Salmon Sandwich filled with lemon whipped cream cheese, smoked salmon, cucumber, pickled onions and herbs.
Maman plans to continue to expand throughout South Florida, where it already has locations in Coral Gables, the Miami Design District and Sunset Harbour in Miami Beach. New locations are slated for South Miami and Brickell, among others.
Maman is located at 473 S. Rosemary Ave., West Palm Beach. For more information, visit mamannyc.com.
