Riviera-style Italian cooking has come to Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood. Casadonna serves up traditional recipes found in the coastal towns of Naples, Taormina, Bari, Positano and Gaeta, presented in a contemporary fashion.
Housed in a waterfront landmark building that is home to the Miami Women’s Club (founded in 1900), the eatery’s name is a nod to the location. “Casa” means house and “donna” translates to woman in Italian.
The restaurant is the result of a first-of-its-kind partnership between Groot Hospitality and Tao Group Hospitality.
“Casadonna is unlike anything we’ve ever done before,” says David Grutman, founder of Groot Hospitality. “In partnering with Tao, I cannot wait to see our synergies take hold and for our guests to experience the unique magic we’ve created.” Noah Tepperberg, Co-CEO of Tao Group Hospitality adds: “David and his team know Miami deeply, and with our combined strengths, I have no doubt Casadonna is going to become an instant classic.”
The menu features a variety of crudo dishes such as Langoustine and Wagyu Beef Carpaccio as well as antipastos. Guests can choose from pasta dishes, seafood, veal, steak and lamb chops. Cocktails and a curated wine cellar complete the spirit of seaside dolce vita. Wrap up your dining experience with a torte, or perhaps gelato?
