Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood is now home to Kissaki, a sushi and omakase (chef’s choice) restaurant with roots in New York City.
Restaurateur and Kissaki founder Garry Kanfer launched the brand in Manhattan’s Lower East Side in January 2020. He has expanded to three other New York locations.
Executive Chef Edgar Valerio created the menu which includes Hokkaido uni (sea urchin), scallops and toro tuna, sourced from Japan within 24 hours of being served.
Sample starters like traditional Seaweed Salad, or, for more adventurous diners, the Toro Sundae layered with tartare, egg yolk, nori purée and osetra caviar. Hot starters include Crispy Rice (spicy tuna, toro tartare, serrano chile and soy butter) and Truffle Scallops.
From mains, diners can enjoy a wide range of dishes including Uni Pasta, Seabass, King Crab Legs and Japanese Wagyu Striploin For Two. The sushi menu offers an assortment of nigiri, sashimi and rolls — from Salmon and Spicy Tuna to Ebi Hamachi and Soft Shell Crab.
Kissaki offers tableside omakase featuring six courses — two appetizers, two flights of signature nigiri, one hand roll featuring chef’s selection and dessert.
There’s an extensive drink menu with sake by the glass or bottle, a variety of cocktails, beer, wine and champagne. Top it all off with a sweet treat from the dessert menu that includes Black Sesame Ice Cream, Peach Cobbler, Matcha Tiramisu and Torija, Spanish bread pudding.
Kissaki Miami is located at 500 South Pointe Dr., Ste. 160, Miami Beach. For more information, visit explorekissaki.com.
