We want to thank three childhood amigos who share a love of Florida, tacos and tequila for bringing the Mexican street-style eatery PapiChulo Tacos to Royal Palm Beach soon.
Scott Frielich, Angelo Abbenante and Cleve Mash have opened and run more than 25 popular establishments, including Abbenante’s Lynora’s Italian Restaurant; Frielich’s Dada, Kapow!, Dubliner, Howley’s and Lost Weekend; and Mash’s Pawn Shop, Dirty Martini and Dr. Feelgood’s.
Together, they’re the masterminds behind the PapiChulo Tacos in Jupiter, which captures the flavors of Mexico, Cuba, Peru and Argentina.
Now, they’re working on their new 3,200-square-foot, 110-seat Royal Palm Beach venue. This one includes a kid-friendly patio with games like corn hole, ring toss, ping pong and giant Jenga.
PapiChulo will serve handmade craft cocktails; house-made tortilla chips; Smoked Brisket Nachos, with refried beans, pickled red onions, jalapeño, queso fresco, cilantro, sour cream and scallions; Chicken Mole, with a roasted half chicken, Brussels sprouts, sweet peppers and mushrooms – and so much more.
The trio claims that desserts, like Mexican Donuts, dusted with cinnamon-sugar and filled with leche condensada (condensed milk), and homemade Caramel Flan, flavored with coconut and mint, are simply irresistible.
Expect several varieties of tacos, like The Pescado, a divine combination of blackened or fried local-caught fish, slaw, pineapple pico de gallo, cilantro, avocado crema and radish. Taco Tuesdays will be a mainstay – along with Margarita Mondays.
We’re ready and waiting.
PapiChulo Tacos Royal Palm Beach will be located at 1005 N. State Road 7. For more information, visit papichulotacos.com.
