It’s spring in Florida. The weather is divine — the perfect time for a picnic at the beach, the park or any number of delightful outdoor venues.
And now for the food. Leave that to Café Boulud, which has created an idyllic picnic for two. Dubbed the Pique-Nique Sur L’herbe by Café Boulud, the all-in-one package includes a woven wicker basket with blue checkered cloth liners, brass accents and leather straps, flatware, plates, napkins, glasses, a bottle of chilled Laurent-Perrier Champagne — and of course elegant cuisine.
The basket was fashioned by Executive Chef Dieter Samijn and brims with Fresh Gazpacho; Smørrebrød with DB smoked salmon, chives, radish and cucumber; Club Sandwich with Key West shrimp; Salade Nicoise with blue fin tuna; Fresh Spring Rolls with crispy vegetables, cilantro, aji Amarillo; Basil Waffle with mozzarella, fresh cherry tomato, dwarf basil. Scones with double cream are tucked in for dessert.
“It will undoubtedly influence the ambiance and harken back to classic French movie depictions of a picturesque afternoon with bubbly champagne and decadent cheese,” notes a press release.
