Orlando’s best-kept secret, Roka Hula, a modern-Asian Tiki Bar from True Grit Hospitality’s Carolina Sanchez and Curtis Peery, is heading to South Florida.
Set to open next year on Delray Beach’s vibrant Atlantic Avenue, this extravagant hotspot will take over the space formerly occupied by Taverna Opa. The restaurant, which will feature sushi and creative cocktails, will be helmed by three-time James Beard Semifinalist Chef Michael Andrezejewski.
Roka Hula’s mouthwatering offerings include Hamachi Tiradito, Tuna Tartare, rolls such as Unagi Royale (BBQ Eel, Avocado, Herb Cheese, Cucumber, Uni Aioli, Truffle Eel Sauce) and King Salmon (Salmon, King Crab, Mango, Avocado, Cucumbers, Ikura, Tuna Flake), as well as nigiris like Branzino and Hamachi. For desserts, or “Happy Endings,” there’s the Ball of Glory (Warm Mochi Donuts, Hazelnut, Chocolate Dip) or the Vietnamese Coffee Affogato (housemade coffee ice cream).
Roka Hula is also known for its exotic cocktail creations. Sip on enticing options like Demon Lover, Psycho Starlett, El Narco or Freaky Franky.
