While many organizations are being damaged by the pandemic, some are adapting to the times.
One of those organizations cleverly changing things up – and staying afloat – is The Palm Beach International Boat Show.
For the first time in its 35-year history, The Palm Beach International Boat Show is moving off the docks and onto digital screens. The virtual boat show will launch May 14, featuring nearly 450 exhibitors showcasing the most exciting new boats and the latest in cutting-edge marine gear and technology. Products range from the latest boat models and the most extraordinary yachts and superyachts to stand-up paddleboards and inflatables.
“The Palm Beach International Boat Show has an extremely engaged following with a large audience of passionate marine enthusiasts,” says George Gentile, president of the Marina Industries Association of Palm Beach County, Inc, which owns the show. “In the show’s 35-year history, we have never dealt with a situation like the current health pandemic. While the show will no longer take place in its original form, we wanted to provide our loyal audience the opportunity to still experience the boat show, albeit virtually.”
The popular Palm Beach International Boat Show was set to take place on the downtown West Palm Beach waterfront along Flagler Drive, where it has been held for 25 years. Due to safety concerns, organizers opted for the virtual version, where viewers will be able to shop for the latest marine gear and tour hundreds of boats while connecting with brokers and manufacturers.
The show – which is free for visitors to view – will also include enhanced video content, such as hundreds of video walk-throughs highlighting new products as well as educational videos and webinars led by industry experts.
