The 2023/2024 Bank of America Broadway in Fort Lauderdale Season is coming to a grand finale with the staging of “Clue,” the hilarious murder mystery comedy inspired by the fan-favorite Hasbro board game and its 1985 Paramount Pictures film. The production will take place at The Broward Center’s Au-Rene Theater from June 11-16.
Based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn and led by Broadway Director Casey Hushion, “Clue” is the ultimate mystery that has left audiences in stitches for more than 20 years across 500 cities worldwide. The play invites theatergoers to help solve the puzzle of who killed Mr. Boddy, in which room and with which weapon. Was it Mrs. Peacock in the study with a knife? Or was it Colonel Mustard in the library with the wrench?
“The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth — the butler, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body counts stacks up,” states Broadway Licensing Global, a leading theatrical licensing agency.
Described as “A very fun whodunit that strikes contemporary parallels on the way to its grand reveal” by The New York Times and “Extraordinarily entertaining” by Broadway World, this must-see comedic play promises an unforgettable night of laughter and suspense.
