B’nai Torah Congregation of Boca Raton, the largest conservative synagogue in Southeast Florida, will present three more performances as part of its 2024 Concert Series, an extraordinary tapestry of Jewish music and culture that kicked off on Jan. 24 with the show of Israeli singer Dudu Fisher.
The next musical performance, scheduled for Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m., promises to celebrate love, peace and justice. Musical band Soul to Soul will take the audience on a life-affirming journey from deep oppression to hope, employing centuries of musical traditions of Ashkenazi Jews and African Americans. In the lyrics and music, Soul to Soul deepens connections and celebrates differences.
On March 6 at 7:30 p.m., Cantor Magda Fishman, who has performed in Israel, the United States, Canada and Europe and whose musical repertoire includes liturgical masterpieces, Israeli songs, jazz, musical theater and her own compositions, will present an evening of Broadway musical hits with Maestro Tomer Adaddi. For the last concert, scheduled for March 13 at 7:30 p.m., Big Band Orchestra and cantor Netanel Hershtik will perform at the bimah (a raised platform found in the synagogue where the Torah is read and services are delivered) of B’nai Torah Congregation.
“In these dark times, our world was shaken. More than ever, the presence of music makes a huge impact on our souls by uniting us in harmony and uplifting our spirits. We are joining as a community to share the light together and listen to some wonderful artists,” says Leader of the Concert Series and B’nai Torah Congregation Cantor Fishman. “The lineup has been hand-selected to bring forth the message of hope, peace and love. We look forward to sharing these magical events with our friends and family and continuing to support each other.”
The 2024 Concert Series, which also offers a virtual option, takes place at B’nai Torah Congregation, 6261 S.W. 18th St., Boca Raton.
