Shakira spent months preparing for her much-anticipated El Dorado World Tour in 2017, choosing the perfect songs, increasing her endurance and promising her best tour yet.
But a strain on her vocal cords forced her to cancel. Devastated, the Grammy winner took to social media to explain and apologize.
It's been several months, and the Colombian pop singer is back - and ready to thrill fans on the El Dorado World Tour, which lands at the BB&T Center in Sunrise on Aug. 15 at 7:30 p.m. and AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami on Aug. 17 & 18 at 7:30 p.m.
"Shakira is happy to be able to get back on the road by summer with her best show yet, and remains incredibly grateful for all the loyalty, patience and support her fans have shown her," notes the AmericanAirlines Arena website.
The tour kicked off to rave reviews, and it appears her intense workout regime left her with stamina to spare.
"Shakira, fearless and frothy-maned, is positively lupine in her power and litheness," notes The Guardian.
She told fans at the O2 Arena in London during a recent show: "A few months ago, I didn't think I'd ever play for you again. But miracles do exist."
And she has no plans of stopping.
"You can laugh, but since I was a child, I knew that I was going to be a well-known singer-songwriter; that was something I had no doubts about," notes IMDb. "It was almost like a prophecy." O
