It's not easy to keep fans engaged for a quarter of a century. But Counting Crows has certainly rocked its way into the hearts of listeners.
To celebrate, the iconic band is going on tour - with a stop at Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach on Aug. 1 at 6:30 p.m. They'll be bringing special guest band Live to join the festivities.
"The nice thing about having 25 years of music to celebrate and seven studio albums we absolutely love to choose from is that we can play a different show every night," said Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz in a press release. "The nice thing about touring with Live is that we get to spend yet another summer with old friends who play great music."
Live, a multi-platinum band from Pennsylvania that has sold more than 22 million albums worldwide, returned the accolades.
"We are freshly reunited and performing with a confidence and ferocity that we can't wait for people to experience. The fact that we will be sharing the stage once again with the incomparable Counting Crows is icing on the cake," notes frontman Ed Kowalczyk.
Counting Crows also has a new sound, as evidenced by its latest album, "Somewhere Under Wonderland. "
"The Bay Area-bred alt-rock band push into new terrain with a revamped songwriting approach that's adventurous and visionary but still rooted in raw emotion," notes the band's website. "With 'Somewhere Under Wonderland,' Counting Crows continue their tradition of delivering uncompromisingly honest music grounded in pure feeling - even when the stories at the center of those songs are essentially fiction."
