Bacon and barbecue. Now that’s a combination that definitely belongs together.
The folks at Fairchild Garden in Miami think so too. So to celebrate all things bacon and barbecue, the venue is hosting its First Annual Bacon & BBQ Classic on Oct. 8.
Things will be sizzling – and to ramp up the experience even more: bourbon and beer tastings will also be available.
“Indulge in some finger-licking BBQ at Fairchild’s 1st Annual Bacon and BBQ Classic. Enjoy savory tastings from some of the nation’s finest pit masters. Sip flights of bourbon and take in some live music — it’s the perfect weekend for the entire family,” notes the venue’s website.
For the kids: scavenger hunts, gunny sack races and a watermelon eating contest.
The setting is stunning: the garden is home to more than 3,400 species of plants, a butterfly garden, fruit trees and so much more. What’s blooming during October? The rainbow shower tree, flame of Jamaica, Dwarf Red Powder Puff and the Fringed Hibiscus to name a few.
