Florida’s breathtaking landscapes are worth capturing and transforming into paintings. For that we count on Tim Forman, who has been portraying our majestic state’s beaches, islands, national parks and sunsets as works of art since he began painting at the age of nine.
You have until Sept. 10 to take in the beauty of the Florida Everglades through Forman’s artwork at “Florida Everglades: River of Grass Reflections,” put together by History Fort Lauderdale, a nonprofit that celebrates Fort Lauderdale’s diverse history.
Forman’s work is the result of dedicated practice. “He uses field sketches, plein air paintings, and photographs to compose his pieces that are painted in layers with both knife and brush,” says a press release. “He creates his landscapes to portray the splendor and simplicity of the natural world around us. Through his work, Tim seeks to lift the spirits and inspire awe above our day-to-day lives.”
In addition to Forman’s pieces, the exhibition, which can be viewed in the art space of the first level of the New River Inn, will also include environmental photographs from History Fort Lauderdale’s archived collection.
