Jazz fans take note: the 7th Annual Jazz Series is back this month. Returning with its best season yet, the highly anticipated event promises a stellar lineup of six performances, all produced and curated by Grammy-nominated record producer and artist Rachel Faro.
Set in the Faena Theater within the iconic, award-winning Faena Hotel Miami Beach, the series kicks off on Jan. 15 with Grammy-winning musician and composer Paquito D’Rivera, joined by the Frost School of Music’s acclaimed Stamps Jazz Quintet.
In February, immerse yourself in the lively Cuban jazz rhythms of Aymée Nuviola and Kemuel Roig’s “Havana Nocturne,” an evening of romance and nostalgia set against the backdrop of 1950s Havana. March will bring the smooth, soulful sounds of Grammy-winning pianist and composer Sullivan Fortner from New Orleans and in April, the spotlight shifts to the rising Mexican vocal talent Lucía, a 30-year-old star known to mesmerize audiences with her exceptional voice. Singer and songwriter Jarrod Lawson, who won the Soul Artist of the Year at the Jazz FM Awards, will grace the stage in May, bringing his original music to the intimate luxury of the Faena Theater. The series concludes on June 18 with “Something Else! Featuring Vincent Herring,” a seven-piece band blending soul jazz, funk and R&B sounds.
