Think of a band that defined 2010s music and Imagine Dragons might be the first to come to mind.
Formed in 2008, the American pop-rock group’s breakthrough came with the release of its debut studio album, “Night Visions,” in 2012. “Radioactive,” the album’s opening track, became an immediate international success, dominating the Billboard Hot 100 for 87 consecutive weeks.
Comprised of lead singer Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee and drummer Daniel Platzman, its second album “Smoke + Mirrors,” soared to No. 1 in the U.S., Canada and the U.K., while its third album, “Evolve,” boasted three No. 1 singles (“Believer,” “Thunder” and “Whatever It Takes”) on the Billboard Hot Rock Songs Chart in 2018.
After a seven-year hiatus, Imagine Dragons returned with the release of its sixth album, “Loom,” in June, followed by a worldwide tour that will run until October. A much-anticipated performance will take place in West Palm Beach’s iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre on Aug. 30.
Philanthropy has always been a priority for the band. It founded The Taylor Robinson Foundation in 2012 to support young people with cancer and has raised substantial funds for school music programs and other initiatives like “Do The Write Thing: National Campaign To Stop Violence” and “Amnesty International.” In 2015, the band donated all proceeds from its single “I Was Me” to the United Nations Refugee Agency.
