Cey Adams
If there’s anything that can take art appreciation to the next level, it’s a glass (or two) of your favorite wine. Add to that the opportunity to meet the artist, and you’ll unlock a new pastime you’ll want to repeat again and again.
Join the Business for the Arts of Broward’s third annual Art & Somm on Nov. 16, for an evening of wine tasting and a renowned graffiti artist meet-and-greet.
“Business for the Arts of Broward is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) engaging business leaders to advocate and educate about the importance of the county’s art and culture community as well as to recognize the connection between cultural vitality, creative success, and economic development,” states a press release.
Fans of graffiti art will enjoy meeting Cey Adams, the New York City native who emerged from the downtown graffiti movement that originated in the late 1960s, where young artists and writers started using the city’s walls as a canvas to express themselves, later becoming a medium for social and political commentary. Adams is known for creating visual identities, album covers, logos and advertisement campaigns for artists like Run DMC, Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Notorious B.I.G., Maroon 5 and legendary rapper, record producer and entrepreneur, Jay-Z.
At the event, which will be held from 6-9 p.m. at the MAD Art Gallery in Fort Lauderdale, a sommelier will guide attendees through a wine tasting and food pairing. All proceeds benefit Business For the Arts of Broward’s Endowed Fund for the Arts at the Community Foundation of Broward.
