Nancy and Ann Wilson are sisters with an agenda.
As the group Heart, they’ve garnered four Grammy Award nominations, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and sold more than 35 million records.
They’re also a testament to the power of women, which they tout on their website: “When women stand up for themselves, show up and speak out, change occurs time and time again, whether in politics, culture, entertainment or music. There might be no women stronger – and louder – than the legendary ladies of Heart.”
After a three-year hiatus, they’re back on tour, and South Florida fans can hear the megastars at Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach on Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. They’ll be bringing along two other musical powerhouses, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and Elle King, to share in the fun.
The siblings are refreshed and ready to tour after their break.
“Both Nancy and I have stretched our wings in life these last three years,” Ann told Rolling Stone. “We’ve both lived and loved. We have breathed and traveled and experienced life. We come to this tour with fresh energy and oxygen.”
Her sister gave this explanation for the musical pause: “I could see it was time for Heart to have a break. We’d been slogging through tour after tour fairly nonstop and were starting to burn out a little bit. Things had just reached a heavy climax.”
Welcome back, Heart. O
