At Adopt-A-Family, our mission is to strengthen families with children in their efforts to achieve stability and self-sufficiency by providing access to all-encompassing services. Since 1983, Adopt-A-Family has grown into the largest service provider for homeless families in Palm Beach County — providing access to services for more than 2,000 families with children per year.
Our core services include:
- Physical housing for literally homeless families
- Homeless prevention and financial assistance for families who are at risk of homelessness
- Affordable housing for low-income working families in Palm Beach County
- Quality afterschool programming for formerly homeless and low-income students from the Lake Worth community
All Adopt-A-Family core programs provide ample support services that includes case management, budgeting assistance, mental health counseling, and referrals to ancillary resources provided by collaborative partners.
Adopt-A-Family (AAF) is thoroughly committed to maintaining a standard of excellence in nonprofit management and fiscal accountability. This August, we were awarded a 12th consecutive four-star (out of four) rating by Charity Navigator, a distinction earned by less than 1% of charities rated nationally. This rating indicates that AAF adheres to good governance and other best practices that ensure the agency mission is executed in a fiscally responsible manner.
Perhaps most importantly, Adopt-A-Family has held true to its vision of being a leader in “helping families help themselves.”
