Anastasia Leondis
Mental Health Counselor
Since the pandemic, more children, teens and families are seeking the guidance of professionals to help support them through daily challenges.
That’s where Anastasia Leondis, MA, LMHC, NCC, a licensed and national board certified mental health counselor with more than 25 years of experience, and owner of Boca Behavioral Health, can help.
“I believe that the stigma around getting mental health services has significantly declined and people understand that it’s okay to seek guidance and support from mental health professionals. We’ve also seen a positive trend of kids asking their parents about going to therapy, and parents seeking guidance on how to find solutions to their family’s challenges, which is another way that Boca Behavioral Health clinicians help clients,” Leondis says.
Leondis began her career in 1996 and later moved to Florida in 2011. By 2018 she grew Boca Behavioral Health into a group practice that includes several counselors who each specialize in depression, anxiety, grief, behavioral problems, family conflict, marriage and couples’ concerns, trauma-related issues, divorce and blended family issues, self-esteem and stress management.
She is also licensed in three states, offering in-person and virtual sessions to Florida-based clients and virtual sessions for clients in Michigan and New York.
“We pride ourselves in being there for our clients, which means doing something as simple as returning a phone call when they’re requesting help, listening with genuine concern and helping them determine which therapist best fits their personality and can address their specific concern,” she says.
While Leondis has many areas of expertise, she’s passionate about helping teen and young adult women build confidence. She also specializes in working with the parents of children of all ages, from challenging toddlers to rebellious teens, and even parents and their adult children.
“As a mom and a counselor, I have the ability to use both my professional and personal experiences to help countless families find peaceful solutions and facilitate healthier relationships,” Leondis says.
“What I love most about the work I do, is helping clients realize that often, they already possess the skills, abilities and qualities that they need to be successful. My job is to facilitate growth and change, guiding clients toward their goals through effective evidence-based therapy techniques.”
