Andrea Doyle
Museum
Andrea Doyle has always loved the arts. As a child, her mother took her to the theater and museums in South Florida, New York City and Washington, D.C. “My palms would sweat because I was so excited.” She wanted a career that would marry her passions for arts and business — behind the scenes.
And that led her to the field of fundraising for the arts, which she has been doing for over 10 years in Boca Raton. Since July, she has been the major gifts and planned giving officer at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, which will celebrate its 75th anniversary this season.
International in scope, while reflecting the creative expression of the region and city, the museum is a destination and experience. The museum and its art school help enhance the cultural, educational and economic vitality of Boca Raton and its surrounding communities. It holds the reputation of being one of South Florida’s leading cultural institutions and one of the longest-standing museums in the area. The museum attracts more than 100,000 visitors annually to its galleries and programs. Programs include Music in the Museum, Yoga at the Museum, curator lectures, Evening of Jazz and Artist at Work.
“The museum offers literally something for everyone,” says Doyle. “We never stop. Something is always going.” Running November 2024 through March 2025, art enthusiasts can see the national premiere of Splendor and Passion: Baroque Spain and Its Empire, which is part of the museum’s 75th-anniversary celebration. The traveling exhibit features artworks by El Greco, Diego Velazquez and other Spanish artists.
At the same time, Legacy: Gifts from the Mayers and Friedman Collection will showcase 191 artworks from the collections of the Mayers and Friedman families.
“When people donate to this museum, they make art available to everyone and bring renowned works to the area.”
In October, Boca Raton Museum of Art announced Irvin Lippman’s upcoming retirement and the appointment of Ena Heller, Ph.D., as the new Executive Director. The transition will take place in February 2025.
