Castano Living is a highly anticipated newcomer to Boca Raton’s design and home furnishings scene.
The stylish 2,500 square foot showroom will celebrate its official grand opening on Sunday, October 14, debuting an inventory of indoor and outdoor furniture handcrafted from high quality woods. For more than 50 years Muebles Castano Furniture Factory in El Retiro, the furniture capital of Colombia, has been making beautiful, handcrafted furnishings for the home, using a variety of live edge and native woods, adhering to the highest level of craftmanship and quality. Now, these exceptional pieces, as well as custom designs created with the same attention to detail and perfection – are available in Boca Raton at Castano Living.
Owner Ed Millette discovered Castano on one of his many trips to Colombia over the past five years and was immediately impressed by the technique, artistry and overall excellence of the furniture. He formed a partnership to bring Castano to the U.S. in his first retail furniture venture, but not his first furniture experience – he grew up in a furniture manufacturing family business in High Point, North Carolina.
During his time in Colombia, Millette became enamored of the tradition and culture represented in Colombian crafts. To be able to offer his customers at Castano Living the opportunity to add these beautiful décor elements to their homes, he has aligned with small manufacturers to import unique products to sell in the store.
Millette is also expanding Muebles Castano in El Retiro to accommodate the increased demand, developing new designs and manufacturing a larger variety of products, while still employing the traditional methods that makes this furniture so superior to many of the other products being offered in the same price range from U.S. manufacturers.
Made by hand from solid woods, defiant of trends toward mass production, Castano Living is creating heritage furniture that preserves the artistry of the past to create modern furniture that will last well into the future.
