Rivkah Denburg
Religious Institution
Rivkah Denburg is a dynamic force in the Jewish community of Boca Raton, dedicated to reshaping perceptions about the roles of observant women.
Co-founding the Chabad of Central Boca Raton in 1989 with her husband, Rabbi Moishe Denburg, she has established herself as a pivotal leader, particularly in Jewish education. “Women are the foundation and cornerstone of Judaism, Jewish family and community,” says Denburg.
In 2000, she co-founded The Maurice A. Halperin Torah Tots Early Childhood Center, becoming its director in 2004 and also serves as Head of School at Tamim Academy, an elementary school that caters to students up to fifth grade.
Denburg emphasizes the importance of creating a nurturing environment that balances Jewish traditions with essential academic skills, enabling children to thrive socially and spiritually.
The overwhelming success of these educational initiatives has led to a great need for expansion. Chabad Central Boca is currently working on plans to build a new school to accommodate up to 500 students, addressing the high demand and ensuring families have access to quality Jewish education.
Chabad has a contract on a piece of land on Clint Moore Road in Boca Raton. Plans are made and zoning is complete. Construction can begin eight weeks after funding is in place. Denburg envisions a vibrant campus that will include summer camps and various extracurricular activities, further enriching the community’s offerings.
A website, buildtamimboca.org, has been created to involve the community in achieving the goal.
Having grown up in a supportive Chabad household in Brooklyn, Denburg’s commitment to education and community service is deeply rooted. A mother of eight and a grandmother of many, she finds joy in her interactions with children and families, ensuring that everyone feels welcome at Chabad. Through her work, she contributes to Jewish education and strengthens the foundation of the community as a whole.
