Georgia Dumas
Restaurateur
One of Georgia Dumas’ fondest food memories is a shared meal with her father in their hometown in Northern Greece to celebrate her getting an award for Student of the Year in elementary school.
“It was this beautiful fine dining spot right on the water,” Dumas recalls. “I got my favorite meal, which was mussels and remember how much I enjoyed the experience getting to spend time with my dad and the amazing food.”
She hopes to recreate those special memories with Lefkes Estiatorio, an upscale modern Greek and Mediterranean restaurant that opened in August in Delray Beach.
It’s a stylish and welcoming space with dishes meant to be shared. Guests enjoy modern takes on whole Mediterranean sea bass, wood-fired lamb chops, chargrilled octopus, Mediterranean appetizers and shareable Greek spreads, a raw bar and more.
The restaurant also features high-quality Greek beers and wines, including Assyrtiko white wine, which grows in the volcanic ash of Santorini.
“When we have our events on the weekends with DJs and performers, we aim to transport people to the beach restaurants of Greece and Mykonos where the parties go late into the night, where people can relax and let go and simply enjoy life,” Dumas says.
Dumas, who managed a Greek television channel in the U.S. and now owns her own television and media business Titan Television, was inspired to open Lefkes Estiatorio to wow important business clients with the cuisine of her home country. The first location is in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
“My customers were all saying Delray would be a fantastic new location for us, as many of them have homes in Delray or the surrounding towns,” Dumas says.
“When I first came down, I immediately fell in love with the energy of Delray and knew instantly it would be a perfect spot. I couldn’t be happier to be a part of such a vibrant community and ever-growing food scene.”
