Jacqueline Morocco Maloney, DDS
Orthodontist
When asked about her career as an orthodontist, Jacqueline Moroco Maloney, DDS, MS, will tell you, “It looks a lot different today than it did when I started practicing here in 1993.”
Moroco moved to Delray Beach following her orthodontic residency in Dallas, Texas. At that time, orthodontics in South Florida was seasonal and most patients were children. Fast forward to 2021 — Moroco Orthodontics stays busy throughout the year providing orthodontic care for a patient population that is now equally children and adults.
Moroco attributes much of this progression to a willingness to continually embrace new technologies that offer patients of all ages customized and discreet orthodontic treatment plans to fit their lifestyle.
“Everyone wants a beautiful smile, but most, even teens, prefer discreet and efficient methods to accomplish the result,” says Moroco. “My partner, Dr. David Simon, and I offer every type of orthodontic technique available from metal and ceramic braces to Incognito (braces behind the teeth) and Invisalign.”
Recently, they added Dental Monitoring™, a remote monitoring system that allows patients to send regular, detailed photos of their treatment progress via an app. “This is the best technology available to follow our patients more closely without extra visits to the office. In fact, it has decreased their visits but upgraded their care,” says Moroco.
“The Dental Monitoring data allows us to make more efficient decisions about patient treatment plans or make corrections more quickly if necessary. All in all, this leads to decreased treatment time,” she says.
Consistent growth of the practice also can be attributed to 28 years of building relationships with her professional colleagues as well as donating time and talent to multiple community service organizations in the area.
“I am proud to have served children in our community via several charitable organizations, particularly Smiles Change Lives,” says Moroco. “Through this organization we provide complimentary orthodontic treatment for patients who cannot afford it. Additionally, I am working with the Junior League of Boca Raton on a leadership program for children ages 12 to 18 launching early 2022.”
