Heather Boyer Samuels and Tara Wood
Elder Law Attorneys
At Samuels Wood PLLC, a boutique elder law, estate planning, and probate law firm, co-founders Heather Boyer Samuels Esq. and Tara Wood Esq., make it their mission to provide compassionate and expert legal solutions.
Together their combined nearly 20 years of experience in elder law has allowed the two an opportunity to provide the tools for their clients and their families to face incapacity and long-term care needs with confidence and security.
The firm, which has a full-time social worker on staff to help families navigate the maze of long-term care, helps individuals with estate and special needs planning, Medicaid long-term care planning, trust administration, probate and other matters within the field.
“Our motto is ‘putting planning in perspective’. Our goal from the moment we meet is to put our clients at ease. We assess each client’s situation and provide resources and a detailed plan to address it,” says Samuels who is a Florida Bar board certified specialist in elder law.
Samuels’ background as a past-president of the South Palm Beach County Florida Association for Women Lawyers and co-chair of the South Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Probate and Guardianship Committee has led her to be an advocate for the community and for the generation of individuals who haven’t been heard.
“I’m passionate about helping the greatest generation because they deserve to be respected, cared for and treated with appreciation. Many times, we have elders who say they feel forgotten but if we can help them prepare in advance for an emergency or infirmities associated with aging then they and their families feel relieved about what may come,” she says.
Wood’s background and mindset is the same as her partner’s. Before they merged, Wood spent years managing a solo practice where she advocated for the elderly.
“We want individuals to enter a place in their life where they find support and dignity and that’s what we provide. We treat each client as if they were our loved one. We want them to have peace of mind about life and their future,” Wood says.
“It gives us both great pride in knowing we’ve helped a family plan their estate, or find the solution to a Medicaid problem, or simply help them get through a difficult or uncertain period.”
