Bringing Smiles To Patients Everywhere
By the time you need to see a periodontist, there’s a good chance your gums, or the bones and surrounding tissue that hold them in place, are in fairly bad shape. That’s why you want to make sure that you find a trusted, knowledgeable and highly experienced periodontist.
For nearly 25 years, Thomas A. Copulos, DDS, P.A., has been helping patients keep a smile on their face – even those with the most complex periodontal problems. He offers state-of-the-art care in a family-like setting.
In his never-ending quest to bring patients the most comprehensive care, Dr. Copulos now offers the novel Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST), a minimally invasive treatment for receding gums without the need for painful grafting or sutures.
While traditional treatments often require multiple rounds of skin grafting, PST requires only a small pinhole to be created in the gum line. Specialized instruments are used to push the gums into proper alignment with your teeth. Collagen is then placed under your gums at the pinhole entry point to provide stability for your treated gum tissue. Best of all, many cases can be treated in one sitting, resulting in better patient adherence and less pain.
“Patients seem to like it better, and this allows them to be treated in one sitting with the least amount of discomfort,” says Dr. Copulos.
He has extensive experience in all areas of periodontal care, including deep cleaning, periodontal surgery and dental implants. He offers both surgical and nonsurgical treatments, including bone and gum grafts, crown lengthening and soft-tissue laser therapy.
Patients give him high marks across the board not only for his expertise but also for his bedside manner.
“Taking the time to explain a patient’s condition and the procedure required to treat them makes them less nervous, and that’s our goal,” says Dr. Copulos.
