A Few Good Men

19th Annual Men With Caring Hearts Luncheon Honors Male Community Leaders

Boca Raton will honor its outstanding male volunteers at the 19th Annual Men with Caring Hearts (MWCH) Awards Luncheon on April 17 at Boca West Country Club in Boca Raton.

Palm Beach County nonprofit organizations are given the opportunity to recognize and honor their male volunteers who selflessly commit to making life better for others living in South Florida.

Co-chairs and Florence Fuller Child Development Centers (FFCDC) board members Heather Shaw and Scott Van Wyngarden look forward to welcoming honorees and guests, beginning with a champagne reception featuring a raffle and a silent auction. A seated luncheon and awards ceremony will immediately follow, including a special presentation by FFCDC children.

Each year, the program gives the Lifetime Achievement Award to one extraordinary man who has personally dedicated his life to volunteerism and the betterment of the community. This year’s award will be presented to Cliff Viner, founder of the Eda and Cliff Viner Community Scholars Foundation.

The Viner Community Scholarship program provides South Palm Beach County high school students with four-year scholarships to colleges and universities in the state public educational system. In its inaugural year, 2015, the organization awarded 18 scholarships.

For nearly 50 years, FFCDC has made a difference for economically challenged children and families through early education to help build a sense of renewed hope in their community. They’ve also prepared children for a lifetime commitment to learning and social achievement and have empowered their families to build a brighter future.

The Boca Raton Observer is the event’s exclusive magazine sponsor. O
