A Special Night For Special Needs

Levis JCC Dream Builder Celebration Pays Tribute To After School Program

On March 8, caring community members and leaders will gather for the Levis JCC’s “Special Night for Special Needs” Dream Builder Celebration which will be held outdoors.

The event, chaired by Judi & Allan Schuman and Nancy & Mitch Small, benefits the Helene & Roy Schwedelson Special Needs Department and is generously sponsored by Boca Regional Hospital Foundation.

The reception will pay tribute to the new After School Enrichment Program which provides children who have special needs with fun-filled afternoons of activities designed to engage and enrich their after-school hours while helping them build critical skills and socialize with peers.

Maya Goldstein, a teen volunteer in the Fit & Fun Sports, Saturday Play at the J, and Camp Kavod programs, will be honored with the Yad B’Yad — Hand in Hand Teen Leadership Award for her contributions to these programs.

The event is also an opportunity to showcase the programs that comprise the Helene & Roy Schwedelson Special Needs Department, which, in addition to the After School Enrichment Program, include camps, a Fit & Fun Sports Program, Sunday School, Parents Night Out & Kids Night Out and self-defense, safety and self-awareness programs for teenage girls and adult women.

Each year, the Dream Builder event continues to grow, as does the heartfelt community support for these critical programs.

The Boca Raton Observer is the exclusive magazine sponsor of the event.
