Impact 100 Palm Beach County To Host Annual Grand Awards

Impact 100 Palm Beach County, a local women’s philanthropy group, will hold its 8th Annual Grand Awards ceremony on April 17 at the Wold Theater at Lynn University in Boca Raton.

Nearly 60 letters of inquiry were received for grant consideration in the 2019 grant cycle, and the organization announced 25 semi-finalists in January. Impact 100 PBC awards one high-impact $100,000 grant in each of the five focus areas of arts and culture, education, environment, family, and health and wellness.

Ten finalists, two in each area of focus, will be announced on April 1. During the Grand Awards, all of the finalists will make a presentation to Impact 100 PBC members, and voting will take place to determine the winner in each category.

Total grant award amounts are based on annual membership, with each member contributing $1,000 that goes directly to grant recipients. Last year, 547 members granted a total of $547,000 to 10 area nonprofits, with category winners each receiving $100,000 and runners-up each receiving $9,400.

“This is definitely one of the most powerful evenings of philanthropy,” says Kirsten Stanley, president of Impact 100 PBC. “The stories shared by each nonprofit are so inspirational and so moving – it’s quite a challenge to select just one winner. We are always aspiring to expand our membership so that we can grant as much as we can to as many worthwhile nonprofits in our area as possible.”

To date, Impact 100 PBC has awarded nearly $2.8 million to area nonprofits.
