Israeli Medical Center Leader To Headline Industry Icon Series Event

Amid premium networking, business leaders and professionals will have the opportunity to hear from Professor Ofer Merin, the new director general of Shaare Zedek, the largest multi-disciplinary medical center in Jerusalem, as he headlines the Industry Icon Series event on Nov. 19.

On the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County campus west of Boca Raton, the event will begin with networking over breakfast (dietary laws observed), followed by the program. The series is a program of the federation’s Business & Professional (B&P) Division.

In addition to heading a world-class, 1,000-bed facility treating hundreds of thousands per year, Professor Merin, a heart surgeon, has served as lieutenant colonel of the IDF field hospital, leading missions to disaster zones around the world.

“It is exciting to learn from those at the top of their game, and we know that Professor Merin’s exceptional leadership experience and insights will be of high interest and great value to everyone across B&P’s broad range of industries and professions,” says Jonathan Schwartz, who co-chairs the series with Fred Stern.

Adds Stern: “The B&P Division, co-chaired by Wendy Lipsich and Benji Gene, has built a diverse community of South Palm Beach County business leaders and professionals who look forward to regular gatherings. We continually learn together as we make meaningful professional and personal connections that help build our businesses as well as our community.”
