Isaac Herzog To Inform, Inspire At Sandler Family Major Gifts Event

Hundreds of Jewish philanthropists will gather for an inspiring evening at the annual Sandler Family Major Gifts Event on Dec. 5. Named for Phyllis and Harvey Sandler and family – and celebrating major donors to the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s 2020 Annual Campaign – this longstanding event in local Jewish philanthropy will take place at The Polo Club of Boca Raton.

Keynoting the evening will be Jewish world leader Isaac Herzog, who succeeded Natan Sharansky as chair of the Jewish Agency for Israel in 2018 after 15 years as a member of the Knesset and several ministerial posts. He is also the son of General Chaim Herzog, the sixth president of Israel, and the grandson of Rabbi Yitzhak HaLevi Herzog, the first Ashkenazi chief rabbi of Israel.

“We are honored to offer our vital major donors this unique opportunity to hear Mr. Herzog at this pivotal time in Israel,” says Barbara Werner, who is co-chairing the event with her husband, Donald, and with Dale and Edward Filhaber. “Together, we will learn as well as celebrate with our philanthropic peers who share our passions and values.”

Adds Dale: “Our federation could not possibly accomplish what we do to strengthen our community and our people in Israel and beyond without the overwhelming generosity and leadership of our major donors. We look forward to a powerful night with philanthropists of all ages from across the community.”

The couvert includes valet parking. Cocktail attire is requested, and dietary laws will be observed. A minimum household gift to the federation’s annual campaign is required to attend.
