Making A Meaningful Difference

The Dorothy P. Seaman Department of Women’s Philanthropy will hold its 2023 Lion of Judah Luncheon at 10:45 a.m. Feb. 1 at The Polo Club of Boca Raton.

Noa Tishby, an author, producer, actress and pro-Israel activist will be the guest speaker. This year, she became Israel’s first Special Envoy for Combatting Antisemitism and Delegitimization.

Part of an international sisterhood 18,000 women strong, South Palm Beach County’s Lion contingent of more than 700 is among the largest in the country. Event Chair Shirley Weisman, along with Women’s Philanthropy Chair Elyssa Kupferberg and Vice Chair Shelly Snyder, planned an engaging program to match the excitement that Tishby is sure to bring.

“Noa’s work of raising awareness of the significance of Israel and the disturbing rise in antisemitism make her an amazing choice for our signature event,” said Weisman.

The event welcomes women who are both established and new to the area, to learn how Lions make meaningful differences in the lives of those in need, locally, globally and in Israel.

Luncheon organizers view the event as a stellar opportunity for guests to make new friends, renew connections and become part of an active network of women dedicated to improving Jewish communities around the world.

The luncheon is sponsored by Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation, Southern Glazer, Ivan & Co., Atlas Event Rentals and The Boca Raton Observer.
