Meeting Of The Minds

Delray Beach Chamber Of Commerce Hosts State Legislators At Luncheon

The Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce brought together state legislators and area businesspeople at its Legislative Lunch at La Cigale in Delray Beach.

Coordinated by chamber members Michael Weiner and Stuart Silver, the event saw an excellent turnout, including one state senator and three state representatives: Sen. Bobby Powell, Rep. Mike Caruso, Rep. Joe Casello and Rep. Al Jacquet.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet the legislators and hobnob with Delray Beach Mayor Shelly Petrolia and Commissioners Bill Bathurst, Ryan Boylston and Adam Frankel. Boynton Beach Mayor Steven Grant; two former Delray Beach mayors, Tom Carney and Jay Alperin; and County Commissioner Robert Weinroth were also in attendance.

Guests were able to learn a bit about each legislator via a one-on-one interview with Michael Weiner of Sachs Sax Caplan, P.L. Afterward, audience members chimed in with questions for the legislators.

“The Delray Beach Chamber is proud to host this annual luncheon that enables the electorate to meet face-to-face with their state representatives,” says Stephanie Immelman, CEO, Delray Beach Chamber. “We value the relationship we have with all of our local, county and state leaders.”

The chamber comprises nearly 800 businesses and professional firms, working together to make Delray Beach a strong community. For nine decades, it has served as the hub of business where stakeholders intersect with government, technology, health care, education, economic development, tourism, arts, culture and nonprofit interests. The Delray Beach Chamber is one of only 300 chambers in the country accredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, placing it in the top 3 percent.
