Sandler Family Major Gifts Event

Dr. Garrett Reisman, a NASA veteran who flew on all three Space Shuttles and served on the International Space Station will be the keynote speaker at the Annual Sandler Family Major Gifts signature event at 6 p.m. Nov. 29 at The Polo Club of Boca Raton.

This event, which is named for Phyllis and Harvey (z”l) Sandler and their family, celebrates major donors to the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s 2022-23 annual campaign.

The event is chaired by Helene and Rick Paul and Carole Sue Lebbin-Spector and Phillip Spector. Sandler Family Major Gifts event sponsors are BDO, The Colony Group, Proskauer, Southern Glazer’s and The Boca Raton Observer magazine.

Following his time with NASA, Dr. Reisman later joined SpaceX, where he worked for Elon Musk and prepared SpaceX for human spaceflight. He was a lead consultant for the film, “Ad Astra,” and for the Apple show, “For All Mankind.” Currently, he is a professor of Astronautical Engineering at USC and a senior advisor at SpaceX.

Spector added, “Our Federation has weathered the challenges of the pandemic, while meeting the responsibility we have to caring for others here and around the world. It is through programs, such as this, that we are able to come together, become inspired all over again and connect with the greater mission of supporting the advancement of the Jewish community, in all of its different forms.”
