Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton Installs Officers

Kicking off the 10th anniversary of The Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton (RCDBR), the Club held its annual installation of the 2022-2023 President and Board of Director at Boca Lago Golf & Country Club. Comedian Jeff Laub was the “opening act” that “set the stage” for an entertaining, yet mission-based evening.

The dinner opened with outgoing president Jon Carter recapping the year’s successes and recognizing club members who have stepped up and stood out throughout the year, including Bruce Spizler as “Rotarian of the Year,” Francesca Daniels as “Rotarian Rookie of the Year,”  “Service Above Self Award” to incoming president Jeff Weber and the “Gary Hickory Distinguished Service Award” named after a deceased founding member, to Howard Tai (member since 2012).

Weber was then installed as by president. Weber has served as a president of the Greenwich, CT Rotary Club and Amsterdam, NY Rotary Club during his 35 years as a Rotarian and joined Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton in 2015. Currently, he owns Jeff Weber Media, is a national media consultant and recently launched an Internet music station, bocaradio.com. Weber is the father of two sons and has a grandson.

Other 2022-2023 officers installed included Jon Carter, immediate past president as consultant (member since 2019); President-elect Kim Champion, Home Health Care (member since 2016); and President-elect nominee Maurice Plough, Jr.; a healthcare consultant (member since 2018).  Sworn in as directors were Bruce Spizler, a retired attorney who served in the State of Maryland’s Attorney General’s Office (member since 2020); Marilyn Wilson, Banker (member since 2017) and Adam Moss, Merchant Services (member since 2019). Also serving on the board; Lana Rosenzweig, Banker (member since 2018), Tabitha Stambaugh, Banker (member since 2017) Diane Stevens, Chiropractor (member since 2016) and Gloria Wank, Realtor (member since 2017).
