Culinary Cruising

Chefs Making Waves Sets Sail March 25

by

Anyone who has ever gone on a cruise knows they’re going to add a few pounds from all the food that’s available. But if you plan to take this cruise you’re bound to gain more than a few.

The inaugural event, Chefs Making Waves, sets sail March 25 aboard the Norwegian Pearl – leaving from PortMiami and is traveling to the ports of Great Stirrup Cay (Norwegian’s private island in the Bahamas) and Nassau. It returns to Miami on March 29.

On this cruise, celebrity chefs are the stars. Michael Symon, Robert Irvine, Aarón Sánchez, Andrew Zimmern, Marcus Samuelsson, Scott Conant, Anne Burrell, Buddy Valastro, Marc Murphy and Maneet Chauhan will prepare curated dinners featuring collaborations between two of them accompanied by wine or cocktail pairings for each dish.

Start your morning off with one of the ship’s fitness classes, such as Morning Yoga or Pickleball Takes All, and follow it up with Bloody Mary Bingo.

The four-day foodie extravaganza will feature walk-around tastings, cooking demonstrations, curated dinners, late-night parties, brunches, lunches, mixology experiences and more.

“Our goal is to provide guests with an immersive culinary experience unlike anything they’ve ever experienced before,” says Jeff Cuellar, vice president of Sixthman Partnerships, which put together the event along with Agency 21 Consulting (A21) and EBG.

There are early and late dinners as well as late night cravings, dessert disco, bites and bingo and sip and savor events. Everything you do is centered around food.

So, get out your stretchy pants and let’s go culinary cruising.
