There’s No Place Like Home

Diving Into Inspiration and Celebration Of Home Sweet Home

Linda L. Behmoiras

Dorothy was right when she tapped her ruby slippers in “The Wizard of Oz” and proclaimed that famed, comforting mantra, “There’s no place like home.”

These days, we know that feeling all too well, with the majority of us spending the bulk of our free — and working — hours in our abode. So, if you happen to be feeling a bit stir-crazy, or find your surroundings a bit stale, I invite you to indulge in this Home & Design issue for moments of inspiration, celebration and self-care.

We’ve all heard the sage Chinese proverb, “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” When it comes to taking that first step in tackling a messy home, our cover piece, “Essential Edits” (page 70), features The Home Edit experts Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin from the hit Netflix show, “Get Organized With The Home Edit” sharing tips on eliminating clutter and creating an organized space. They offer useful pointers and wise advice that will help, not only your home, but your health!

From there, peruse the exquisite oceanside penthouse displayed stunningly in “A View From The Top” (page 76). The floor-to-window ceilings (oh, and that breathtaking view!) along with a blend of contemporary and classic modern design has me practically packing my bags to move in!

Craving a bit more space? “Wow’s The Word” (page 88) highlights an extraordinary 6,991-square-foot home in the exclusive St. Andrews Country Club designed by Susan Lachance Interior Design. From the floating staircase to the top-of-the-line kitchen and master bath, this is one home destined to inspire.

If you want to sit back and learn from a pro, “The Flip Side” (page 82) introduces you to Tarek El Moussa, the dazzling star of HGTV’s hit “Flip or Flop.” His candid and gracious chat with us about his career, personal life and why he believes 2021 will be his best year yet is not one to be missed.

So, whether you’ve misplaced your ruby slippers or are simply longing for inspiration and celebration of the home, we invite you to kick your feet up and enjoy.

Best,

Linda L. Behmoiras
