Fort Lauderdale Welcomes Sandwich And Beer Bar - Subs And Suds

by

Restaurateur Memphis Garrett made a name for himself with The Poke House, Growlers & Howlers and JB&C.

Now, the culinary visionary has a quartet of dining destinations. His latest? Subs and Suds, which brings twists on signature sandwiches from around the country, expertly paired with 20 craft beers, to Fort Lauderdale's Riverside Park neighborhood.

"In the past few years, Fort Lauderdale has been booming," notes Garrett. "I want to give our residents what they're looking for - fresh, high-quality food that they can and want to eat several times a week, whether it's dining out or taking it to-go."

The creative menu, developed by Chef Jeremy Powell, sous chef at Miami's Boulud Sud, includes the Honolulu Pork Sandwich, with six-hour braised pulled pork, Japanese barbecue sauce, spicy pineapple pico and fennel cabbage slaw piled high on a sweet bread hoagie. Try it paired with Maui Brewing Company's Maui Big Wave. Other choices include the Atlanta Fried Chicken, matched with Terrapin Beer Company's Hi-5IPA, and the Philly Steak & Cheese, coupled with Victory Brewing's Golden Monkey.

Dessert has not been overlooked here: Sinfully sweet blizzards, soft-serve ice cream and more tempting options await.

The 40-seat open-air eatery exudes retro charm, complete with vintage signs and musical blasts from the past. Perfect for today - and tomorrow.

Subs and Suds is located at 601 S.W. 12th Ave., Fort Lauderdale. For more information, call 954-652-1971 or visit its Facebook page.
