A Classic Experience

Miami’s Favorite Cuban Coffee Returns

by

Head down to South Beach to experience a Miami institution.

Cafecito pop-up by David’s Café will be serving up Cuban cuisine (yes there will be café con leche!) in the lobby of the Shelbourne South Beach.

“We look forward to continuing our 44-year tradition of serving South Florida with our famous café con leche, guava pastelitos, legendary Cuban sandwich and much more,” Adrian Gonzalez, owner of David’s Cafecito and son of the original owners, Alfredo and Maria Gonzalez, said in a press release.

The eatery began dishing up treats in 1977 but its standalone venue closed during the lockdown.

The pop-up, open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. seven days a week, will run through the summer.

“As an iconic South Beach hotel, we wanted to give our guests a taste of what true Cuban cuisine and Miami culture is like,” Steven Hiblum, general manager of Shelborne South Beach, explained in a press release. “David’s Cafecito is a thriving family business that has made its mark in the local Miami community and we want to help continue the 44-year-long tradition.”

Menu items include traditional Cuban sandwiches, Batidos (Cuban-style milkshakes) as well as guava and cheese pastelitos, empanadas and croquetas.

Shelborne South Beach is located at 1801 Collins Ave., Miami Beach. For more information, call 305-531-1271 or visit shelborne.com.
