Blast From The Past

The O.G. In Delray Beach Honors The Good Old Days

The concept is simple but spectacular: a neighborhood cocktail bar drenched in counterculture and packaged up as a general store.

That’s the idea behind The O.G. in Delray Beach – the brainchild of Challo Schott, creator of Miami’s Better Days, a pop-up bar inside a thrift store.

“The O.G. (Oceanside Grocers) is a blending of culture and style throwbacks and nostalgia molded, shaped and repackaged for today’s market,” Schott told Chilled magazine. “The O.G. meets both worlds head-on – historic and urban Delray Beach and its evolution into an arts and entertainment district for the masses. We’re a future lifestyle brand that doesn’t just claim to be local as the trend is but says we were here first, and the old way doesn’t go away.”

In keeping with the retro theme, the hotspot sports a 60-year-old General Electric fridge and an original Ms. Pac Man arcade machine. Cocktail offerings range from the O.G. Michelada (a beer spiked with Mexican spices) to the O.G. Frozen Sangria (served in an ICEE cup) to the O.G. Bloody Mary (served in a Campbell’s Tomato Soup can).

The O.G. is located at 166 S.E. Second Ave., Delray Beach. For more information, call 561-270-7600 or visit ogdelray.com.
