Food For The Soul

Root & Bone Offers Southern Flair In Miami

by

Take note, Miami: Your longing for Southern comfort food is over.

You can thank Root & Bone, which recently unveiled its South Miami location of the acclaimed New York City concept known for Southern hospitality, charm and bold flavors.

The cuisine is soul-nurturing, conscientiously sourced and farm-fresh thanks to celebrity chefs Jeff McInnis and Janine Booth, who pay homage to the recipes and traditions of rural America. The pair collaborated with Grove Bay Hospitality Group on the venture.

“Jeff and Janine’s Root & Bone has everything we think our customers are looking for,” notes Ignacio Garcia-Menocal, co-founder and CEO of Grove Bay Hospitality Group, in a press release. “Amazing food; a comfortable atmosphere; an unbeatable bar program; and, of course, stellar service.”

The Root & Bone menu showcases ingredients fresh from the earth (thus the word “root” in the name) and off the bone. Highlights include Smashed Sunchoke Tostones, with buttermilk crème fraiche, caviar and chives; Shrimp & Grits, with Carolina shrimp, creamy grits, tomatoes, sweet corn and bacon beer jus; and Sweet Tea Brined Fried Chicken, which is lemon dusted and served with honey Tabasco sauce.

The restaurant offers a full bar; lunch weekdays; dinner daily; and brunch weekends, complete with Bloody Mary carts and live music.

Root & Bone is located at 5958 S. Dixie Highway, Miami. For more information, call 786-785-1001 or visit rootnbone.com/miami.
