Join The Bubble Tea-Volution

Taiwan may be the undisputed bubble (boba) tea capital of the world, but Boca Raton hasn’t been left in the dust. 

Welcome Bubbleology, the new spot for boba tea and bubble waffles that has taken up residence in The Shops at University Park. The chain, which originated in the United Kingdom and expanded across Europe, the United States and the Middle East, prides itself on making sure each freshly made bubble tea and bubble waffle is customized to customer preference.

For the uninitiated, boba tea is “black tea, milk, ice and chewy tapioca pearls, all shaken together like a martini,” according to Eater.com. Fruit flavorings are also added. The drinks can be served hot or cold – and “they’re a quirky snack and drink in one,” Bubbleology notes on its website.

Special drinks include the Bobatella, made with Nutella and a shot of jasmine; the Blue Electric Yuzu, carbonated tea with yuzu citrus and jasmine tea; and Nojito, made with pure coconut water, lychee and mint.

And let’s not forget those one-of-a-kind bubble waffles. The concept is simple: A vanilla or chocolate waffle with bubbles is shaped into a cone and filled with gelato, toppings and sauces. Make your own creation, or order one of the specialties, such as Matcha-Do-About-Nuttin, made with a vanilla waffle, pistachio gelato and blueberries, or Fudge-alicious, made with a cocoa waffle, salted caramel gelato and caramel sauce.
