Boca's Tommy Socks To Appear On "America’s Got Talent"

The 84-Year-Old Dancer Will Make His Debut On July 14

If you’re a fan of “America’s Got Talent" – or senior citizens having a whole lot of fun – be sure to tune in on July 14 at 8 p.m.

That’s when Boca Raton’s own Tommy Socks – real name Tom Sylvester – will dance his heart out for the panel of judges.

The 84-year-old, whose nickname comes from the fact that he dances in his socks, first gained attention when he posted videos of his dancing chops on YouTube in 2017. Soon, he was invited to appear on NBC’s “Little Big Shots” with Steve Harvey, performing with Beyoncé’s backup dancers.

Although “America’s Got Talent” had turned Sylvester down previously, they liked what they saw on “Little Big Shots” and sent him a song to record a video dance audition to in his west Boca  home. Judges, including Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum, praised his performance in the virtual audition.

Now, Sylvester will make an appearance on season 15 of the NBC variety show. Be sure to tune in on Tuesday to cheer on this homegrown talent!
