She Will Discuss Presidential Leadership In Turbulent Times

by

No matter which side of the political spectrum you fall on, there’s no denying that we live in turbulent times.

For a historian’s perspective on the state of our union, don’t miss Doris Kearns Goodwin speaking at Florida Atlantic University’s 2020 Alan B. and Charna Larkin Symposium on the American Presidency. Taking place Feb. 12 at 3:30 p.m. in the Kaye Auditorium on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, the lecture will focus on Presidential Leadership in Turbulent Times, and a book signing will follow.

Goodwin is a world-renowned presidential historian, a public speaker, a Pulitzer Prize winner and a New York Times No. 1 best-selling author.

Her seventh book, “Leadership: In Turbulent Times,” published in September 2018 and a New York Times best-seller, is a culmination of her five-decade career of studying the American presidents, focusing on Presidents Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Baines Johnson. Goodwin weaves information about these presidents’ administrations into a nuanced look at current events.

Since its founding in 2007, the Alan B. and Charna Larkin Symposium has welcomed former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright; journalists/authors Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein; Eugene Robinson of The Washington Post; and historian David McCullough.
