A Side-Splitting Affair

Comedy Icon Kathy Griffin Lights Up South Florida With Her Unique Brand Of Humor

by

Two-time Emmy and Grammy Award-winning comedian, television star, bestselling author and social advocate Kathy Griffin knows the power of a good laugh. With her unparalleled comedic style and illustrious pedigree, she has established a reputation as an international performer, leaving audiences in stitches wherever she takes the stage.

Whether you’ve been following Griffin since her stand-up comedy days in the 1990s or are simply looking for topnotch, side-splitting entertainment, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts is presenting her latest tour, “Kathy Griffin: My Life On The PTSD-List,” on May 15 at 7:30 p.m.

“From penning New York Times bestselling books to filling the biggest concert halls around the world on her comedy tours including three performances at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Kodak Theater, the famed Sydney Opera House and the London Palladium, Kathy has cemented herself as one of the most powerful figures in comedy with her unfiltered, unafraid and utterly hilarious take on Hollywood — she is a must-see for any stand-up fan,” states the venue’s website.

Despite enduring cancer, drug addiction, divorce, the loss of her mother and being canceled in the industry for the last six years, Griffin is back on track with a 40-city tour across the country. In an interview with the Phoenix New Times in March, she expressed, “I finally feel at home again on that stage doing what I do, making people laugh. Sometimes it’s shocking. Something I get the gay gasp, but I love every minute of it.”
