Cindy Niad Hannah

Mediation & Arbitration Attorney

Cindy Niad Hannah found her calling in the early 1990s when, at the age of 33, she became one of few female attorneys in Florida to become a Certified Civil Circuit Court Mediator. At that time Florida was one of the first states to embrace settling lawsuits through mediation and most mediators were much older retired male judges.

In 2003, Niad Hannah founded ATD Mediation & Arbitration, P.A. ATD stands for “Agree to Disagree” and can be found at agree2disagree.com. Niad Hannah has mediated over 10,000 lawsuits since becoming certified and traveled to such places as Bucharest, Romania, Puerto Rico and Phoenix to mediate disputes. She was invited to join the Complex Commercial and the Employment Panels of the prestigious American Arbitration Association, through whom she serves as both mediator and private judge. Recently, she conducted a three-panel member arbitration in New Jersey where the panel was tasked to determine a $460 million dispute.

Niad Hannah’s grandmother taught her the importance of practicing “Tzedakah,” by helping others not as fortunate, which remains a core value of hers. She was a JAFCO godparent for a decade and served on JAFCO’s founding Board of Directors that helped create its Children’s Ability Center for families with children with neurological disabilities. Niad Hannah is a Federation Lion of Judah, a group of Jewish women who give monetary support to Israel. She supports Planned Parenthood, The Pet Cottage, Feeding South Florida and Feeding Sedona, AZ, where she has a second home.

When not working, Niad Hannah and husband Steve are avid golfers who love traveling with their clubs. They recently celebrated Niad Hannah’s 65th birthday at the Superbowl and have a cruise to Iceland and Norway planned this summer.

Niad Hannah is the proud parent of an adult daughter, Samantha and two Doodles. She has no plans to retire. Her role model is her 88-year-old mother who serves as ATD’s bookkeeper.

Niad Hannah’s words of wisdom to The Boca Raton Observer readers, “Don’t wait for a lawsuit. Contact a mediator who will reach out to your opposition and offer a pre-suit mediation as a vehicle to resolve disputes before they grow into expensive lawsuits.  And, when drafting a contract include mandatory pre-suit mediation.”
