Valerie Roca Brings Her Passion For Country Club Style Living To Boca Raton

At Boca Grove, seven women hold key management positions. One of them is Valerie Roca, director of membership sales & marketing. She joined the ranks in September after working at a couple of other South Florida country club communities.

With an undergraduate degree in hospitality and a master’s in business administration, Roca wanted to move to the city known for its country club style living. “I wanted to expand and challenge myself professionally. Boca is the hub of golf and tennis clubs,” she says.

Roca’s focus has been on building Boca Grove’s brand, something she’s accomplished through videos, virtual tours and building relationships with Realtors. In the last six months, Roca has seen demand for homes in the luxury-lifestyle community skyrocket. Most of the new residents are younger and coming from the northeast.

“In 2020, we saw nearly double the home sales from previous years. This year we have already reached the halfway mark, as compared to last year,” Roca says. 

Safety and security are a priority for those who are arriving from big cities, something Boca Grove prides itself on.

“We have 24-hour surveillance, we monitor pedestrian traffic, we have thermal cameras in high-traffic areas. We take safety very seriously,” she says.

Boca Grove was built more than 35 years ago on a 300-acre Honeybell orange grove. It boasts 444 homes and offers many of the amenities usually reserved for larger luxury-living communities. Boca Grove’s crowning jewel is its Jim Fazio-designed, 18-hole championship golf course boasting no tee times! 

By Labor Day, the $11.5 million renovation of the two-story sports and wellness center is expected to be completed. It includes a new fitness center, al fresco and poolside dining, men’s and women’s steam rooms, multipurpose fitness rooms and a children-only recreational center.

Boca Grove recently hired a dedicated pickle ball instructor to conduct daily clinics and tournaments at the newly renovated and expanded courts. What’s more, you don’t have to be a resident to enjoy all of the amenities. Membership is open to non-residents as well.
