Caffe Luna Rosa

One Big Italian Family Has Everyone Saying “Mangia”

From its pristinely fresh seafood to pasta made daily, it’s no wonder Caffe Luna Rosa consistently receives rave reviews from locals and tourists alike.

Just steps from the Atlantic Ocean, this open-air restaurant has a nostalgic vibe. Its walls are filled with memorabilia dating back to the 1950s, including an autographed photo of Old Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra.

Founded in 1993 by longtime restaurateur Fran Marincola, Caffe Luna Rosa is run by a team of longtime-employees-turned-owners, whose goal is to provide guests with the best in food, service and ambiance.

Executive Chef Ernesto DeBlasi, who has been at the restaurant for 17 years, is one of the owners, along with Day Chef Marvin Barrera, Manager Nikola Stijak, Office Manager Bonnie Beer and Day Manager Aaron Hallyburton. Though not related, they are all like family, says Chef DeBlasi.

The bustling beachside bistro is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and was voted Restaurant of the Year in 2014 and 2015 by the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce.

“Brunch is by far a guest favorite,” says Chef DeBlasi. “Our Filet Mignon Eggs Benedict and Pastrami/Corned Beef Hash Omelette get rave reviews.”

The dinner menu features a number of Italian-inspired seafood items with a heavy emphasis on fresh fish and pasta. Guest favorites include Scamponi, two colossal shrimp stuffed with lump crabmeat and served over herbed brown rice. In the mood for pasta? The Linguini Amalfitana is loaded with clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp and a fresh catch of the day, seasoned with garlic, extra virgin olive oil and San Marzano tomato sauce.

The tantalizing aromas of garlic, onion and Italian spices wafting through the restaurant – mixed with the fresh ocean breeze – are a treat for the senses.

Caffe Luna Rosa never disappoints. Everything – from the food to the service to the ambiance – will have you coming back for more. As you might imagine, the place gets packed on weekends, so reservations are suggested.

Caffe Luna Rosa is located at 34 S. Ocean Blvd., Delray Beach. For more information, call 561-274-9404 or visit caffelunarosa.com.
