Firm Expands To Better Serve South Florida Clients

As more northerners move to Florida, either on a part- or full-time basis, having their legal counsel close is important. That’s one reason why Day Pitney is focusing its growth in the Sunshine State.

In January, the East Coast law firm grew its SouthFlorida footprint for the second time in three years by merging with Richman Greer, P.A. tripling its Florida headcount to 22 lawyers. 

Richman Greer had a long history as a powerhouse litigation and trial firm. Merging with Day Pitney, which has a deeper bench of corporate and trust and estate attorneys, was a perfect match. 

“Through the merger, we became a full-service firm in Florida with experience in almost all areas of law. Our litigators are highly skilled trial lawyers with a long track record of resolving complex business disputes both inside and outside the courtroom,” says Gary Betensky, a partner in the West Palm Beach office who spent 35 years with Richman Greer.

Day Pitney has more than 300 attorneys in 13 offices from Boston to Miami, serving a wide range of industries, including energy and utilities, real estate, healthcare and family offices, among others.  

“Day Pitney has a large Northeast presence and has seen the migration of individuals and businesses to Florida. It was a natural fit to further the Florida expansion so the firm can continue to service clients year-round,” says Michael Napoleone, a partner in the West Palm Beach office and a Richman Greer attorney for 20 years.
