This origin story begins in 2006 when two young men, one from University of Connecticut, the other from Florida State University, met at a regional financial firm. As Josh Feller, ChFC^©, Investment Advisor Representative, describes, “We were two motivated ex-athletes that wanted to make an impression!” Neither were locals, but both were passionate about the financial services industry and creating impactin the South Florida community. They took a leap of faith, opened Feller Financial Services in Boca Raton and business has been booming ever since.

The duo has contrasting personalities. Feller is more of the driver, working well from a macro perspective. Richard Koblick, CRPC^©, AWMA^©, Investment Advisor Representative, is more amiable and analytical and works best from the micro side. “It creates a good flow to be able to segment certain tasks and responsibilities to each person,” says Feller. “It’s a nice Ying and Yang.”

As business evolved, so did Feller Financial. They sat down roughly five years ago and proposed the question, “Where is the financial planning industry going?” Together they reached the conclusion that the best firms create a combination of old-school service and new-school technology. The two founders have been furiously chasing that mission ever since. Feller says, “Revamping our technology platform has allowed us to be extremely efficient. We understand that nobody wants to speak to a machine. Our technology allows us to grow, is a time-saver and lets us do what we really love, which is to guide our clients.”

“We’re a goal-based planning firm. We help people understand the impact of their financial decisions” says Feller. Feller Financial focuses on four major parts of financial life — retirement planning, investment planning, estate planning and tax planning. “Our satisfaction comes from being there for moments that matter, whether that be retirement, travel, wedding or bucket list items,” he says.

Feller, 40, says their youth is a selling point. “We’ve been here for over 16 years, and we’ll be here for the next 20,” he says. “It’s a rare combination to have youth, experience and success.

When it comes down to it, we hit all three of those boxes. That’s what makes us unique.”
